It’s a testament to the longevity of Mean Girls that it continues to be relevant to the struggles and experiences of young people navigating the teenage world of high school. The film follows Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan, in one of her best teen movies of all time) as she moves from Africa to the U.S. and quickly has to adapt to the difficult social dynamics and politics of American schools. Cady finds her way into the popular clique of the school headed by Regina George (Rachel McAdams), which is initially an experiment, but she soon becomes caught up in the social ladder of her new school. The film was directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey who also starred.
