Lin-Manuel Miranda Explains Why Encanto’s Bruno Song Was Not Considered For An Oscar

There are not many people who can say they have had the kind of year 2021 became for Lin-Manuel Miranda. With many actors, directors, and much of the entertainment industry itself still in recovery mode following the height of the Covid pandemic, Miranda has followed the success of his musical Hamilton, coming to Disney+ in 2020 with the release of the big-screen version of In The Heights, taking on directorial duties on the Oscar-nominated Tick, Tick…Boom!, and composing and songwriting on Disney’s record-breaking movie Encanto. While Miranda is now up for an Oscar for his song Dos Oruguitas from Disney’s Encanto, some have questioned why the breakout song We Don’t Talk About Bruno wasn’t nominated for the big award of Best Song.
